Lisboa, 20 jul (Lusa) – Os aeroportos de Lisboa, Porto, Faro, em Portugal, e de Bissau, na Guiné-Bissau, serão, a partir de hoje e durante todo o verão, palco de uma campanha contra a Mutilação Genital Feminina (MGF).

Campanha lançada pelo Governo estará visível em Lisboa, Porto, Faro e Bissau durante os meses de Verão. Objectivo é despertar consciências.

A campanha arrancou esta quarta-feira com a intenção de combater uma prática que ainda afeta milhões de meninas em todo o mundo.

Em Portugal, autoridades estimam que há 6.500 mulheres e meninas com mais de 15 anos que foram mutiladas.

The situation of women in Poland continues to deteriorate – in the recent months we have witnessed a real attempt to further restrict the current law on abortion, which already made it difficult to obtain a legal procedure. The “Stop Abortion” civic committee succeeded in submitting a draft law introducing a complete ban on abortion and a new category into the criminal code – “prenatal murder”, which will  introduce penalty of 3 to 5 years in prison for women, doctors and anyone helping a woman to perform an abortion. The group, supported by the Ordo Iuris, a conservative and anti-choice organization, had already collected the needed 100 000 signatures under its draft law thereby securing its reading and debate in the Polish Parliament, possibly already  in July or early Autumn.

In the past few years, the SRHR community has heavily engaged in the post-2015 process, which culminated in the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in September 2015, with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The main aim of this year’s EuroNGOs conference is to ensure that the SRHR community is ready to effectively engage in the implementation, follow-up and review of the SDGs, and strategically use them to advance our advocacy on SRHR in a global perspective.

La tuerie d’Orlando, qui a fait 49 morts dans une discothèque LGBT dans la nuit du 11 au 12 juin, visait la communauté homosexuelle. Mais c’est aussi une attaque contre l’essence même de la société américaine : la liberté.

Le plan de lutte contre l’homophobie et la transphobie du gouvernement québécois viendra bientôt à échéance. La ministre de la Justice, Stéphanie Vallée, a réalisé mardi une journée de consultation auprès d’une vingtaine d’organismes du milieu pour connaitre les enjeux qui méritent d’être abordés dans le nouveau plan. «Les événements survenus dimanche à Orlando nous ont tous glacé le sang et c’est certain que ça donne une couleur différente à notre consultation, a-t-elle dit d’emblée. Mais ça démontre à quel point il est important de maintenir cette lutte à l’homophobie», a-t-elle ajouté en référence à la tragique fusillade dans un bar gai qui a fait 50 morts. Alors que tous les intervenants ont mentionné l’urgence de mieux financer ces organismes dont ses travailleurs sont souvent bénévoles, certains enjeux ressortent de la discussion.
